As much as Summer causes my heart to skip a few beats, I cannot deny that deep down, Spring is my weakness. It isn’t only the arrival of just-right weather, the many picnics, sitting down by the beach and not getting sunburned that gets me excited but it is what this season begins to represent.
Someone mentioned to me this week that with the fast approaching last quarter of the year in our sights, we should forget about making any resolutions and rather look to 2017 instead. I beg to differ though.
Spring spells for me, the start of new and exciting things, the opportunity to start afresh and begin a new chapter despite it being at the tail end of the year. I have learned not to place restrictions with regards to when I should achieve my goals but rather looking at those dreams as having no specific start date or expiry date for that matter.
I absolutely believe that there is more to life than working your usual 8-5 and that despite the nagging voice that tells me I need it to pay the bills, I also know that doing what I love is a possibility , and with hard work can certainly become a reality.
I knew what my dream was since I was 16 years old and I cannot truly justify why I haven’t followed my heart after all these years.
It takes just a small acorn to become a majestic,bold, beautiful oak tree so why can’t we be the same? Great things take time, hard work, practice and lots of nurturing.
It is never too late to be who you were always meant to be. Plant that seed and watch how you will grow.
